About Chimney Sweep Advisor

Define the work. Compare the evidence. Keep a record of what remains unknown.

What we publish—and why

Chimney Sweep Advisor is a U.S.-focused company directory and homeowner research website. It helps readers distinguish sweeping, inspection and repair; prepare consistent questions; compare written proposals; and keep service records. It does not perform chimney work or inspect the properties described by its users.

The Decision Notebook, Quote Comparison Lab and Chimney Passport are original planning tools. Their purpose is to make missing information easier to identify, not to calculate a contractor’s quality or declare a system safe.

Who is responsible for the content?

Chimney Sweep Advisor is the publishing identity used on these pages. References to its editorial desk mean that publishing function, not a claimed team of certified chimney professionals. Content is AI-assisted. We do not currently document an independent professional reviewer for our educational guides, and we do not assign invented biographies, credentials or field experience to their bylines.

Questions and correction requests go to our published contact address. Our editorial policy describes sourcing, AI use and corrections. Do not mistake publication on this site for professional approval.

Where company information comes from

Profiles use records supplied through the Chimney Sweeps Hub directory feed. Contact details, service categories and credential fields can be incomplete or out of date. An update date refers to the source record, not a new Advisor inspection. We have not independently verified each business.

Our public ordering method counts the completeness of nine equally weighted fields. Paid tiers receive no ranking bonus. This describes the implemented ordering—not a claim that a more complete profile belongs to a better company.

What is original and what is illustrative?

Service briefs, scope-mismatch examples, the component work map and comparison worksheets are editorial tools. Homeowner scenarios are explicitly illustrative, not reports of jobs we attended. Editorial photographs are AI-generated scenes, not photographs of listed contractors or their completed work.

Local coverage summaries are calculated from directory records. Selected local notes link to identified public authorities; we do not pretend to have visited every city or checked every jurisdiction.

Use the site with the right expectations

Use company profiles to identify candidates, then confirm identity, relevant qualifications, insurance, service area, availability and scope directly. Use the original source for current safety guidance. In immediate danger, leave the property and contact emergency services; this website is not an emergency response channel.
