What our directory can—and cannot—tell you

Nine equally weighted record fields

Default ordering counts whether a record has a phone, website, description, service list, certification list, license number, insurance status, street address and a valid update date. Each contributes one point. Ties use alphabetical company name. A recorded “not insured” status counts as information present, not a positive recommendation.

Payment tiers, review scores and directory verification badges receive no bonus in this ordering. You can also choose name, update date or recorded rating. Rating sorts are explicitly based on third-party records, not ratings we collected ourselves.

Local coverage, not market share

State and city counts include records returned by the directory feed. A service count means that many profiles record the service; it does not mean all those companies are available, licensed or suitable for your property. Missing fields mean unknown to this directory, not absent in the real world.

City indexes follow recorded business location. They do not establish service boundaries. Other cities linked from a city page are in the same state and are not necessarily the closest geographically. Confirm address coverage directly.

Credentials and reputation

Check certification status with the issuing organization, applicable licensing with the relevant authority, and insurance with the company or insurer. Review numbers can change and should be checked at their original source. A verified directory record is not a safety certification or our endorsement.

Corrections and data availability

Records are refreshed through a shared feed and can be incomplete or temporarily unavailable. An unavailable feed must not be interpreted as a location with no contractors. Send corrections with the relevant page and supporting evidence.
